Choose the instrument around the measurement, connection environment and evidence you need to keep. Portability can matter more than channel count in one task; simultaneous channels, reliable triggering and raw export can dominate another. Neither form factor alone establishes isolation or measurement quality.

An oscilloscope, multimeter and generator in one case can be convenient, but three named functions do not imply three independent instruments. Check which modes run together, whether references are shared, what changes during switching, and whether the data you need can be exported.
